Suchan, The Curve

I've been curious about this this Secret-Recipe-lookalike cafe (I feel la~) since its opening in The Curve.
It also serves assorted cakes and beverages.
It has quite an extensive menu on local cuisine as well as western food.

On the day before we went back to hometown for cny, we dropped by at The Curve for dinner. This cafe came to my mind, so we were here.

We had outdoor seats, overlooking lighting decor. Also an unusually quiet Friday night.

I like this pavlola-lookalike cake, not too sweet to my liking.

Japonaise

Both the cakes are quite good~

The spaghetti, oh my, they are really delicious!

Pardon me for the lack of info (as the receipt is not with me). I tried to recall, if not mistaken, the former is aglio olio (v) and the latter is obviously a carbonara, with salmon.

Departure Lounge, Damansara Utama (Uptown)

I was not really inspired to work one evening, so I thought I might just drop by a cafe for coffee.
Since I've never been to Departure Lounge, so that's the choice.

By the way, their Barista, Evon Tan, has won the Malaysia Barista Championship 2011.

Seeing their breakfast meal menu on the wall, I'm quite tempted to return for it. :)

Cappuccino.
Also, I had garlic bread for my coffee time.

Pancake with Apricot Jam

The pancake premix is so easy, just add water and that's it!
Fluffy enough~

This time I had my pancake with organic apricot jam from Vitabio.
No added sugar, the sweetness from the pure fruit itself is so yummy!

This is my breakfast with coffee for today.
Cheers!

Moontree月树, Jalan Panggung, KL.

Nutty cake, RM10.
就好吃,没别的。

 cheesecake. RM10.

Lighthouse Coffee, Penang

After leaving ChinaHouse, we had a walk around Beach Street and other streets in that area, even walked to Chai Diam Ma to see what's new.

Then we passed by Lighthouse Coffee along Bishop Street, which to my delight, as I saw a few friends had pleasant experiences with their coffee. We thought we might as well have dinner here before heading back home.

But it's already late evening when we were there and the kitchen is closed, thus only drinks and cakes to be served.

Some lighthouse decor on the shelf.

Some display and post-it-notes by patrons.

My cappuccino, 2nd cup of the day after ChinaHouse's.
I have to say that this is my preferred one.
That's chenyee's iced blended at the background. She likes it.

We had carrot walnut cake too, quite a pleasant one.

ChinaHouse -Beach Street, Penang

Undeniably, here is one of the most popular cafes in Penang Island recently.
When we were there on day 5 of Chinese new year, it was full house.

This is what I mean when I said China -full- House. ;P

We were walking from front to the back of the cafe looking for seats.
Meanwhile, we explored this very long and slim old time shop house and cam-whoring.

 Also with a wine room.

Nice courtyard.

When we were about to give up and leave as we found no empty table, there's people leaving from the first table near the entrance.

We were lucky. :)

Fy had her crushed mint and lime soda, RM10.
Very refreshing.

 My cappuccino, RM10.
Not as good as I expected, as many said good.
Maybe they were busy serving such a huge crowd on that day.

Chenyee's latte, RM10.
No magic as well.

Pineapple upsidedown (RM8) and kahlua tiramisu (RM12).
Nice cakes~

The pricy chicken pie (RM30), but with the oh-so-tasty mashed potato, we satisfied. :)
We wanted to try a dish with avocado, but unfortunately it's unavailable on the day.

The crowd started to dismiss after an hour.

Chenyee's doodle.
