Japanese rice 三色米

I bought this rice from a shop near Todaiji, Nara.
It's with 3 colours -red, black and green.

i cooked porridge with mushroom, tofu, french bean and wolf berries.

Just playing with the raw ingredient.
I think it looks like a building in the greens. ;)

Best meal we had in Nara

I'm not too sure what is the name of the small eatery inside Kitentsu Nara station.
We've just reached Nara from Kyoto and it was time for lunch.

We walked around and saw this banner.

We were attracted by this menu although we only got a rough idea of what were they serving.

The staff greeted us and asked if we wanted lunch. We said yes.
So, after awhile, this is what they served us.
Seriously, these were the things written on the board, everything!
And it was 700yen only, we thought it was a great deal~

Everything was great! We were really full and satisfied with the lunch, arigatou!

Monsieur pepé, Nara

We were on our way back to guesthouse while looking for a lunch place.
We passed by this pretty little cottage house serving western food.

It was too pretty to be missed, we thought.
The name is Monsieur pepé.

Quartet, TTDI

I came to Taman Tun for printing, so sekali visited this new kid in the neighbourhood.

I passed by once and missed the place by looking for the signage.
Alamak, don't have yet. So I checked for the address again. Number 21.

They have vinyl recorders with a player at this corner.
I sat at the opposite, enjoying the music.

Sometimes I don't order my usual drink cappuccino, will be long black instead.

How good can a french toast be? I was happily indulging this pretty thing although they took a little longer time to prepare it.

After playing with deers at Nara Park, we were ready to head back to guesthouse.
Then we passed by Rococo along the way.
I asked KH what about having coffee here.
She agreed. :)

Fru-T-Pop Popsicles, Sri Hartamas

Taking a break from my Kansai trip food post, here's a vegetarian/vegan cafe in Klang Valley.

I think most people will assume they only sell popsicles from the name -Fru-t-pop Popsicles.
I won't know they serve good food if not for my sis telling me about it.

Old lorry part being displayed here.

Soup of the day and lime juice for sw as she ordered set lunch.

Her vege wrap with salad.
They might look decent but she felt full already even before finishing the first piece of the wrap.

I was too excited with my vege burger that I didn't take any photo of it, except for this fries made of tofu. It's superb! I love it~

Okonomiyaki @ちょば ちょば Choba Choba

I didn't know where to have my dinner on my first night in Kyoto.
I went back to Anteroom after visiting Kamogawa (鸭川) and 'ransacked' the room to find surprises. Hehe.

So I found a list of eating places nearby Anteroom prepared by the hotel. So nice.
Then I saw a restaurant within walking distance from Anteroom serving okonomiyaki.
Ok, I'll just go for this, I thought.

It was a little shop with a few tables and an L-shape of bar counter.
I ordered my meal with my clumsy Japanese.

The boss was very friendly.
I tried to communicate with him despite our language barrier.
We talked about our respective country, food and the tv programme showing on his tv hanging above.
He even gave me a sushi keychain as souvenir when I left. :)

Ohya, his okonomiyaki was good!

I didn't take any photo of the shop.
This is what I captured from google map.

Stuff from my Kansai trip

I'm not a shopaholic, but I tried and also bought coffee and bread during my trip in Kansai area.

Fig bread bought from a bakery in Osaka.
That tray is from Muji, and the plate from a flea market in Kyoto.

Coffee bean from Elmers Green Cafe in Kitahama, Osaka.
It's a nice cafe, I like it.

Also a coffee magazine bought from Keibunsha Bookstore.

Drip coffee pack from UCC bought in JR Isetan.

It's also been a practice for us to buy rice from Asian countries.
Chenyee bought rice from Taiwan before.

Breakfast @Anteroom Meals

I had breakfast at Anteroom Meals during my stay there.
It's for 1000yen per person.

Half a pita, a wrap, DIY salad, minestrone soup, smoothie and coffee/tea.
Other than the main and smoothie, the rest were self service.

A good day starts with a good breakfast!
