The Daily Fix, Jonker Street Melaka

These photos are from my visit 2 months ago.
And just last week, The Daily Fix announced their new opening hour, that's to extend until 11pm!
Good news for people who wished to visit them for dinner and supper. :)

I had durian pancake. Superb!
I hadn't have a bite on real durian this year, so this was a replacement. Hehe.
Sis not into durian at all, So I had them all by myself.

I tried the pandan pancake with gula melaka on another visit, also as fluffy. Just that I finished them by myself (again) was a little too much. It's better for sharing.

The Coffee Jar 呷珈琲, Melaka

Barely 2 months old, this new cafe at Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka -The Coffee JAR -has been a talk among coffee friends.
I visited them when I was in Melaka early this month.

They roast and brew their own coffee.
We had Kenya and Rwanda that day, light roasted ones.
I always love coffee with brighter note.

It's a cosy place with some cakes and pies apart from coffee.
It's such a surprise to see a working cassette player and owners' cassette collection!

Country bread

Country bread.
Ingredients needed: flour, water, salt and time. We always spend at least 4 days for the making, allowing it to ferment slowly and develop a good sourdough.

Pingvinen, Bergen

I found out about Pingvinen online, which the cafe and bar offers some of the most authentic Norwegian food.

I had this mashed potato, fish and crispy bacon with flat bread.
It was good, and I was fooled by the look. I didn't think it's a big portion, but I was quite stuffed before I could finish it.
I hardly had beer normally. But then they serve beers from micro breweries on tap and that attracted me to try it. It's certainly fresh, why not?
I ordered a glass and went tipsy even it's only 2 sips. *I know I'm lame*

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the cosy ambiance at the cafe.

Iced coffee for hot day

I normally go for hot coffee, but for a hot day I sometimes will opt for iced coffee.

I used 15g of coffee bean with 150ml of hot water (90°C).
I will always use freshly ground coffee.
I put the dripper over a server with strainer (2-3 ice cubes inside) so that when the coffee is dripping, the ice could cool down the coffee immediately.

Once the dripping is done, put more ice cubes into a glass and pour the coffee in.
Enjoy the refreshing iced coffee!

 I realized I've not been baking bagels for quite some time, so I tried baking one batch on Sunday night.
They turned out well, puffed enough!

After that I got an ordering from friends, so I baked more last night.

Kjøkkenhagen, Norway

I was a lucky wwoofer (check wwoof) when I was accepted to do my 3-week stint at Hurdal Ecovillage in Norway last month. Not only I got to work in the organic farm, I had the chance to work in this lovely cafe, Kjøkkenhagen, as well.

 I love the blue door!

The building used to be part of a school. The cafe took over the space after the school moved.

Analog Cafe, SS17

A cafe cum bakery in SS17, Analog KL

Apart from coffee (serving both espresso based and filter, I love the black!) they serve sourdough waffles and bagels too. 
They have a lovely selection of sweet bakes and cakes as well. 
I'd tried apple custard cake and cinammon bun so far, both have my thumb ups!

I had 1 on 1 (RM12) during my visit. It's with one espresso and one white.
They were serving Milkiller from The Roast Things.
I enjoyed the espresso which is fruity and smooth, while the cappuccino was slightly milkier. 

Not forgetting the wooden cake display, I love it!
