English muffin from Village Grocer

Don't know why, I'm kinda into English muffin lately.
Whenever I saw in bakeries, I will sure get some.

This pack of muffins were just freshly baked on the day, I assumed from the fluffy buns.
I made mashed potatoes as the filling.

That's my snack. :)

Rampo Cafe, Nippori

It's been 4 months away since my Tokyo trip, but I haven't post much about the food I had there.

Here is one of the cafes I'd visited, which is situated in Nippori 日暮里.
I got to know about this cafe from a book by a Taiwanese blogger.
I like this town so much, so cosy and relaxing.
Too bad I couldn't find the textile area, which is one of the features of the town.

After walking around inside Nippori town, I had no idea where to find this cafe, even with a illustration map in the book.
But I always believe in  communicating with the locals to get the right info.
So even I couldn't speak proper Japanese and the locals could only understand minimal english, we still manage to communicate.
Japanese are mostly friendly, I can say. :)

The lane I visited. Quite a lot of tourists here.

So an obasan pointed me the direction to the cafe, I started to walk inside the neighbourhood.

It was a long stretch of road, passing the quiet residential area.
Finally, I saw the logo of the cafe.

A new shop opening in a few days time on the left.
Rampo the cafe on the right.

The cafe. A lot of wooden furniture, a lot of cat theme decor.
Also an art exhibition by a local artist.

Americano and toast with blueberry jam.

The cute young lady staff, the only staff other than the old man owner.

I will definitely pay a visit to the town again if I got the chance to revisit Tokyo.

"a cozy coffee shop packed with knickknacks, kitsch, and folk art. It offers soft drinks, coffee, and beer; jazz plays softly in the background. Open every day except Monday from 10am to 8pm."

Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso & Cream; Matcha latte

I found this doubleshot espresso in a Korean grocery store in Ampang.
I'm not sure if this is available locally, but you see this one is with Korean word.
So I suppose this is imported from there.

The taste is ok, I expected it to be without sweetness, but it is sweet with a hint of bitterness.
It costs about RM7+.

Did I mentioned about this matcha latte that I had in Tokyo?
This one is wholesomely good!
I never had matcha latte in Starbucks here, so I'm not sure if it's equally good.
Maybe I should try next time.

Sunflower seeds all over the bread.

Super soft mini cake with custard filling, kinda melt in your mouth.

Mukha, TTDI

After seeing this blog, I'm happy to visit this cafe with E, which is quite near to my place.
so we had our lunch date here on a rainy afternoon.

Mukha is a middle east style cafe, also provided with Shisha.

Menu on the wall. Just read them and order at the counter.
Payment has to be made before they serve the meal.

E's mint hot choc with marshmallow, which is x'mas special.

My cappuccino, er, which looks like latte to me.
Gulf rice -Basmathi rice with Briyani style chicken, also served with side salad and papadam. RM16.
Quite a big portion for 2 gals, luckily we shared the meal.

Marga-pita, RM8. The basic type of pizza, just that it's served with pita bread.

Tesco Mini Marie Biscuits

I always like Marie biscuits, be it original or chocolate flavour.
I found this mini ones by Tesco when I did my grocery shopping last week.

Aren't they cute?
I keep them in jar now, same as this. :)
