Durian cake @Australian Confectionery, Sea Park PJ

This bakery is quite well known for its durian puff.
I was there for a quick snack before my dance class.
I thought of getting bread, then the aunty recommended their durian cake.

I'm a fan of durian, so I happily agreed to have that.
Not bad, just that the durian flesh inside was frozen and I couldn't stand the coldness.
When I was asked how was the cake by that aunty, I told her about that.
Then she said "oh you should wait for a few minutes to allow defrosting before eating it."

-.- should have told me earlier la.

New in town: Antipodean Cafe, Telawi Bangsar

Antipodes is a way of referring to Australia and New Zealand, often used in a humorous way. So antipodean is the adjective.

I got to know about this cafe when I noticed a friend went there quite often, and I was curious about it. So it's actually quite new in the area.
Then only I learned that it's hailing all the way from Jakarta.
They used only coffee roasted by Indonesia's top specialty roaster, Merdeka Coffee.

I was thinking who to invite for a coffee session on a Saturday evening when I was in the mood to swing all the way to Bangsar to visit this cafe.
Lucky enough sw and hm were there in Bangsar for shopping, so 'let's meet there la' I said.

Looking up from my seat is the menu.
But needless for second thought, I will always go for cappuccino first.
I know, but it's my kinda benchmark for cafe. =)

Here's my lovely cappuccino (RM8) with blueberry muffin which is also at the same price.
I'd no complain for the coffee, but kinda pricey for a muffin though, as it didn't taste extraordinary for me.

This is piccolo latte (RM7) ordered by sw in a smaller cup.
(This photo also taken by her as I missed the photo)
She enjoyed it.

We enjoyed the moment too. =)

Ristretto, 10 Mont Kiara (revisited)

On a few occasion, to be correct.

This is a place where we had our coffee break and short meeting, sometimes for lunch and dinner.

day A with cappuccino,

with vegetable pie. Lots of cheese here~

Day B also started with cappuccino...

and the oh-so-good omelet croissant!

Another cappuccino on day C. Notice that all the latte art were different? =)

 Club sandwich, MS's favourite.
Aglio olio, but with chicken?
I did ask for without chicken's, but I think they forgot and still added in.
But not bad for a new style like that.

+wondermilk, Damansara Utama (Uptown)

Wondermilk is not a new place for PJ people, but I believe it's still being well received by patrons.
I was there on a weekday evening, half of the cafe were taken. Considering that's a good sign during non-peak hour.

Wall decor next to my table.

My cappuccino (RM7) with a dash of chocolate powder as I tasted the mild sweetness of chocolate, which is nice and different from what I used to have.

Mushroom sandwich (RM10.90) with side salad. Just mushroom, just nice.

Namaste, TTDI

Namaste, a greeting word which is commonly used in India.
Sounds so serene to me as one will tend to say it out softly/politely. A beautiful word.

I'm not going to teach about Indian word here, it's an Indian restaurant that I'd visited twice so far.
I love Indian food for the curry, pappadam and naan.
Oh, and mango lassi. =)

We were here on last Saturday.
Must be because it's a Saturday + public holiday, it was a full house soon after we had our table.
Of course, the good food counts too.
We had vegetable briyani set, RM9.90.
The portion is so big that can feed both of us.
During my first visit, I ordered this and chenyee ordered fish briyani set. In the end we had to pack the leftover because we just couldn't finish them!
So this time, we thought we played smart by ordering only one set of this with other side dishes.

For side dishes, we had masala thosai, RM3.90.

Hiding inside the thosai was some potatoes and carrots in gravy.
Nice! I hardly eat thosai as it's too...bare and small portion. But this one with filling totally won me over~

I'm a fan of plain naan with curry.
I've never had cheese naan before, and many people told that it's nice, hence my order for this.
But I thought the cheese is supposed to be inside the naan?
What we had here (RM5.90) was with grated cheese OUTSIDE the naan. Nothing inside, totally plain.
It's not complete when the cheese is not melting.
Hmm..I was joking that I should walk to Devi's Corner at the other end of the shoplot to have the normal cheese naan.

So we still packed half the portion of the briyani rice because we,again, were too full after the side dishes.
I'll come back again whenever I crave for Indian food with reasonable price, nice and air-conditioned environment.

Coffee Famille (Revisited)

I visited Coffee Famille again early last month (yes I know it's long ago).
The weather was so hot that I wanna leave my apartment to somewhere that is cooling.
Actually not really, I wanted a different space apart from my room, with coffee, hehe. Yeah, need some inspiration or else my brain is stuck.
I had their cappuccino last time, so I tried latte.
Smooth, fragrant, milky.
Chenyee would love this, but I still prefer cappuccino.

I wanted to have cake, but unfortunately they hadn't prepare with any that day.
They suggested coffee brulee instead.
I gave it a try as I never had any before. I couldn't even recall if I had normal creme brulee anywhere else as I'm not a fan of dessert.

Once it's served, I could smell the strong fragrant of coffee.
Ehhmm, nice~
The texture was smooth. The grated orange/lemon skin did bring some freshness to it.
And it's not too sweet as to my liking.
The portion also just nice for me, too much of sweetness will make me sick (as in geli la).

The Bakery, Sri Hartamas

One day, I was discussing where to have meeting with my client.
Client: Let's meet at the bakery.
Me: Which bakery? What's the name?
Client: It's the name, The Bakery. In Sri Hartamas.
Me: Oh.

Then only I know there's a bakery cum cafe named The Bakery.

Ok. I did research online, only then I found out it's a branch of The Bakery Ukay Heights in Ampang which is quite popular among the residents.
The story is here.

As usual, cappuccino for me.
That's for me to stay awake during the meeting. Haha, just kidding.
Coming to cafe of course must try their coffee. That's the way I determine if this is the one I can come again.

Our discussion ended at about 6pm. The clients left and I stayed for dinner.
I wanted to order vegetable lasagna, but not available that day. Then I wanted vegetable pie, sold out.
Then the guy who took my order suggested aglio olio, they could it in vegetable one.
I happily said ok. =)
See how nice of the pasta with colourful vegetables~
And I love it!
