Invited review: PLOY with your food

I first heard about Ploy, Work@Clearwater from SW who had celebrated her birthday there last year.
She recommended the place for the ambience as well as the food.

As I received the invitation to Ploy for sampling their special selection menu, i was quite excited and accepted it immediately.

The place isn't too hard for me to locate, just take a left turn at UOA building in Damansara Heights and not too far away,  I found myself in Work@Clearwater already.

If you still haven't done with yee sang, they have a unique package for you. :)

The Twelve Cups, WhiteAways Arcade, Penang

We heard a lot about this relatively new cafe in Penang.
When we were here on Chinese new year eve and still have time for some coffee, we decided to visit The Twelve Cups on Beach Street.

The spacious interior.

My cappuccino, RM8.90.
Tasted ok, just a little bit small cup for me.
Chenyee had Americano for RM7.50 while FY had peppermint tea (RM6.90).

Their specialty is mille crepe.
We were contemplating which flavour to go for as they have a few types including vanilla and matcha ones. Finally we settled on this Hokkaido chocolate mille crepe. (RM10.50)

The texture was good but chenyee thought it's a bit too sweet.
I like the tiny chocolate cracker balls in the crepe, making it a little bit more fun to eat. :)

They have this doodling book in the shelf.
Feel free to play with it.
(I did and do let me know if you found this. hehe)

Petite Millie, One Utama

It's been there since the opening of renovated old wing of One Utama.
I passed by so many times but it's either not the right time for food or my companions weren't really keen to try.

My sis and I were there for some shopping, and we passed by again.

We were browsing the menu. A guy (looks like the manager) came up and told us about The Good Dinner promotion, where with every main ordered you are given a choice of either an appetizer or dessert and get a complimentary Ice Lemon Tea. All this from only RM 25.90.

We thought, let's go in this time?
It's a nice gesture to prepare a container for us to put bags, especially for ladies. :)

The Carpenter's Daughter, Taipan USJ

I was told by my housemate, who used to work in Taipan USJ, there's an artisan bakery in the area.
She bought cupcakes from there for chenyee's birthday before.

I don't always go to Subang area, until last weekend I had to go to Puchong I thought I could drop by Taipan on the way back to PJ.

So I had dinner at The Carpenter's Daughter.
But it was a challenging task to find the cafe and get a parking here as it's a rather busy area, also when I'm not quite familiar with it.

A cosy and country feel cafe.

A side salad and soup of my choice, pumpkin soup.

The bread platter! (RM16.90 for all you see on this table except warm water)
I'd been wanting to try this once I found it in the menu from the website.

Bread on board: wholewheat bread, garlic bread, sundried tomato focaccia, lychee & walnut bread and multigrain bread.
Also with balsamic vinegar+olive oil, Lurpak butter and their homemade roselle jam.

Everything was so good that I finished all by myself! :D

Cakes and tarts on display.

Assorted bread.
I like the lychee & walnut bread very much that I bought one home. (RM6.90)

Secret Recipe Beyond Vege, Publika

Secret Recipe Beyond Vege has their second outlet opened in Publika!
(the 3rd one is in TTDI, more info in their fb page)

 Cosy interior.

It's the tea time promotion (RM8.80+ for a coffee/tea and a slice of cake) again, I had jasmine green tea.

 Ube yam cake.
Real yam cubes are existed in the cake. The grated coconut at the skin contributes a slight salty taste.
I love this cake!

I had mashed potato spread sandwich, RM14.90.
I thought it won't be in this big portion, that's why I still ordered the cake.

Everything was fine with the sandwich, the only thing was I find the vege cracker's a bit bitter. Not too sure what were they made of, too.

I couldn't finish the sandwich as I had the whole slice of cake for myself, so ended up I brought home half of the sandwich.
