Cafe & Meal Muji, Namba Osaka

It's quite unbelievable that I only got to visit Muji on my last two days of the trip, compared to my Tokyo trip which I paid visit to Muji almost every day. ;P

On the night we reached Osaka, one of the first question to the hostel staff was: Where is the nearest Muji outlet? Lucky for me that Namba one is very near, and it's also a huge outlet with a few floors to shop. Another plus point is there's Cafe & Meal Muji too!

Once coming out from subway station, we saw the building also with Tower Records inside.

My curry rice with mashed sweet potato. And also black coffee.

KH had set meal -1 soup, 1 drink, 1 hot meal and 2 cold dishes, with rice.

They have a lot of books and magazines for patrons to browse.
I only managed to flip through 2 magazines. Wish I had more time.

Craft beer @Coffee Famille

Coffee Famille now has extra members in the house- craft beer!

Good thing about being a regular -can try out new things in advance, the better part is boss treated me this. Hehe.
I'm not a beer drinker, but this one was smooth with a hint of sweetness.

New item too -hazelnut brownie.
It's very rich in dark chocolate and not too sweet.
But good thing must share la, like here. :D

The Alley, 5 Stewart Lane

The Alley, opened its door since mid of November, has something different from other cafes in Penang.
Apart from serving coffee, churros and cronut are their specialty.

I'm not a fan of churros as I find it sweet other than...sweet.
Yeah, I don't fancy sweet stuff.
However, I'm glad that The Alley serves churros that is slimmer and not all too sweet.
It has the crunchiness on the outside and still soft inside, as well as with a hint of saltiness.
*kudos to you guys*

I like that -soup of the day!

They just introduced cronut on the week I was there.
That's macadamia nuts on top, served with syrup.

Thanks to Ping for reserving the cronut and prepared it before I reached.
That's already sweet enough~ ;)
I couldn't finish the normal serving of churros, but I requested to taste some, hence the presentation with only 2 sticks of them.

Eat them with black coffee, perfect!

I got to taste their new cake too -lemon cheesecake.
It was very much like Japanese style cheesecake, very soft and fluffy texture.

The cozy corner at the back.

Locate them right behind the famous Kuan Imm Temple, just a few walking steps away. :)

Feeka Coffee Roasters, Jalan Mesui

Another 'baby' by the founder of Food Foundry and Butter & Beans -Feeka Coffee Roasters.

It's situated on a Jalan Mesui, a busy place on weekdays and turns into a quiet neighbourhood on non-working days.

We were here on a Saturday after one week from they started business.

By 1pm, it was still a quiet place with a few tables occupied.
About 3pm, the place was full already.

I love the sunlight coming from the void.

Winter Solstice 搓汤圆

This is one of my favourite celebrations of the year.
Making glutinous rice balls with family members has been a practice almost every year.
Even for now that we are far away from parents, we still keeping it alive here.

This time we made white colour, yellow (from pumpkin) and pink (from vegetable juice, beetroot is the main ingredient).

Jepara Organic Tempe

Jepara organic tempe was featured in Mari Market.

They made tempe burger, and showed us how to eat tempe raw.
It was so good!

We bought tempe at RM15 for two.
Since it's still fresh (within 12 hours from when the tempe has done fermentation and ready to be served), we ate it raw.
After 12 hours, it should be stored in freezer and you can grill or pan fried it to eat.

Tempe made of organic soy bean.
The tempe maker learned the skill from Indonesia.
I guess it's Jepara since the name suggested.

Homecook: quick lunch series

Some home cook lunch on weekdays when I work from home.

Burger bun by White Brick Oven with stir fried cabbage & mushroom.
Add in cherry tomatoes to cheer up my lunch time.
Served with soy milk too.

Chinese style strozzapreti with coliflower, carrot, oyster mushroom and cherry tomato.
Some chilli flakes to spice up the dish.

Wholemeal baguette with stir fried carrot, oyster mushroom and asparagus bean.
I love mashed sweet potato at Nando's, so I did a remake seasoned with sea salt, cinnamon powder and black pepper.

Bon appetit!

Cafe Independants, Kyoto

After our light dinner at Kokoraya, I still wanted to look for Cafe Independants.
I knew we were on the right lane, just unsure of the distance.

And I saw the side entrance finally!

It's an underground cafe, literally.

Juchheim and Sunday breakfast

Chenyee bought this Juchheim cake in Takashimaya Singapore which is, according to her friend in Singapore, popular.

It was soft and very strong egg taste. Not bad but a little too sweet for me.

That made our Sunday breakfast along side with Fy's homemade flat scone, soy milk and coffee.

Flight meal -vegan vegetarian

I selected vegan vegetarian meals during my return flight for KL-Kansai.

I didn't take any photo, but I sketched them on my little sketch book.
I quite enjoy doodling like that although it took longer time than taking photo. :)

Healthy dinner in Kyoto -おうちごはん ここら屋, 御幸町南店

This is one of the surprise find in Kyoto.
We walked along the street to look for a cafe, but we were hungry already.
We saw this wooden shop with fresh looking vegetables displayed at the entrance.
We were curious and checked out the menu.

Interesting, we thought.

Ten 天-Kiyomizu, Kyoto

We were about to leave Kiyomizu area after visiting the famous Kiyomizu temple, and we walked along the street that sells all kind of souvenirs.

We saw this nice gift shop with a cafe inside, so we checked out the menu by curious.
Seeing the interesting lunch set and the oh-so-nice-looking desserts, we went in.

We could see the busy street from the dining area.
