Breakfast on Sunday

I adore breakfast very very much.
Especially on Sundays.

 One morning with ciabata from White Brick Oven;

Another day with home made oatmeal bread.

Bagel House Cafe, Chiang Mai

I had been busy patronizing mushrooming cafes in Klang Valley area recently that I've forgotten about my Chiang Mai exploration.

After visiting Chiang Mai University, we came here for lunch.
Lucky it's by the main road side and we didn't miss it when looking for it.

A tiny cafe but they serve some different flavours of yummy bagels.

Urbean, Avenue K

KLCC is my once-a-while lepak place when I have a weekday to spend.
Most of the time I will stop by Kinokuniya, Petronas Gallery and RAWcoffee.

Since Avenue K has been revived, I went to have a walk around.
(Yey to the most complete Muji outlet in Malaysia to date!)

There are a few cafes and I chose to have my meal at Urbean.
It's a cosy place and warm service.
Yes, warm as they served me a warm cup and a whole bottle of plain water. :)

Roasted vegetables sandwich (RM15) and long black (RM8.50).
They are using beans by Common Man Coffee Roasters.
For the sandwich, taste wise ok but not too memorable.
Pleasant presentation, though.

Nabe n Bakery, Solaris Mont Kiara

It was a random visit as I was looking for a place to settle my late lunch.
I saw this bakery and thought it should have something for me to munch as other restaurants seemed to have fixed lunch hour.

I'm not sure if this wall helps in anything but blocking view.
Maybe it IS used to block view, to keep privacy?

Every tables there's one soft toy.

Mu lunch companion. He's shy. ;)

I ordered bagel with salad, with black coffee. (RM14.90)
When the staff brought the meal, I was wondering if that's mine.
They cut the bagel already! haha~

FIQS Gastronomy, SS19

A rather new addition to Subang food paradise -FIQS Gastronomy in SS19.

Such an exciting open kitchen where you can hear how they place and receive orders, the talking between chefs and helpers, and I overheard a chef yelling "don't panic!" after receiving a long order.

I bake -oatmeal raisin muffin

Also first time trying the recipe, this is the first batch.
It was too sweet and didn't rise well. I think because I didn't put enough baking powder.

My second time was not a success too, as I forgot to put sugar. -.-
Still edible though.

I will try until I got the right thing. ;)

Home cook: Pumpkin rice & sugar cane flower

Home cook dinner is my favourite!
I cooked pumpkin rice with the our uncle's home grown pumpkin. :)

It isn't an easy task to maintain egg free diet as eggs are so commonly used in cooking.
That egg-looking thing with long bean is not egg, it's actually sugar cane flower.
And it looks and tastes like fried egg, amazing!

Haikara Style Cafe & Bakery, Subang Jaya

I feel like dining in Japan when I was having lunch in Haikara Style Cafe and Bakery.
The Japanese style meal, Japanese owner and many Japanese patrons.

We both had the simple lunch set served with hot coffee. (RM15.90 each)
I opted for pasta while jy had chicken.
All the breads served are home made freshly baked everyday.

Woods Bio Marche, SS2

This cafe serving vegan microbiotic organic food, which was established 11 years ago.
I still remember seeing the outlet in Bangsar Telawi last time.
Now they have this cafe, Woods Bio Marche, in SS2 as well as Bukit Bintang.

Not only serving healthy food, they also have a corner of fresh produce, grocery and books.
They do obento lunch delivery and healthy cooking classes too.

I was there after lunch hour so the kitchen has closed, and to reopen for dinner at a later time.
So I had banana cake and red bean bun, which are all eggless.

The menu of daily bento lunch set looks good. I'll come back for that soon.
