Pandan Republic 青青

Pandan Republic is a cosy little cafe situated on Lorong Panggung ( the famous Kwai Chai Hong 鬼子巷) in Petaling Street.

Since that alley is quite popular with tourists as well as the locals, you could miss out this tiny cafe as they have the same exterior for that row of shoplots. But you couldn't miss the giant ice cream prop outside of the cafe.

Yup, they sell soft serve in pandan and coconut flavour. It's very localized indeed. :)

It has both the flavours blended well, not overpowering and no artificial flavouring.

We could taste that they use real ingredients for the soft serve.

We've been there for a few times for the dessert soup and Nyonya kuih.

They are comforting (food), and the ambiance of the cafe too. Perhaps it's the pastel colours they used for the interior. 

 

I finally tried their mains during my last visit. It's their signature -lei cha.

It's vegetarian.The soup is very very good, you know they are real food when you saw the amount of basil leaves used. I like the pickled radish very much with a hint of spiciness.

I finished everything in the bowl including the soup. :)
