Pik Nik on a sunny day

"The artist one day falls through a hole in the brambles,
and from that moment he is following the dark rapids
of an underground river which may sometimes flow so
near to the surface that the laughing picnic parties are heard above."
- Cyril Connolly

Ah, time flies and now we're at the next half of year 2013.

I enjoyed my first half of year 2013. Not that I was only having fun and picnicking throughout the months, I still work hard (to buy myself coffee lol).

Before the end of the 2nd quarter of the year, we managed to squeeze some time to do 'picnicking' at Pik Nik in Penang.

Awesome place, I must say.

I believe they painted the original tiles and after some times, the paint came off.
Now now it becomes a beautiful art.

A door leaf turned table.

Used signboard.

I had not much confidence in coffee served at these fancy cafes including Pik Nik.
Well, I still order one to try.

When the latte was served, I thought it won't be that bad based on the look.
Luckily it turned out to be not bad at all. :)
*phew*

How not to order their signature -waffle salmonster?
One can't go wrong with the combo of scramble egg & smoked salmon, but on a waffle?
This was our first time trying.
It was quite good, but if the waffle was crunchier it would be better.

Sunny day.

I'll come again to try other stuffs and also for the ambiance.
